Bought this to replace my existing and very old Nikon D5100.
Mirrorless is a whole new area to explore and this camera has features I’ve only ever dreamt of having such as focus stacking ability and two DS card slots so you can configure one to backup the other. As I’ve lost important work before, this is a must-have for me. Can’t wait to properly explore this one.

Depuis le temps que je voulais remplacer mon D90, j’ai profité du cumul de deux remises pour franchir le pas vers l’hybride plein format. Très bon prix, puisque le Z5 est en fait un Z6 moins deux choses :
Nous n’avons pas le petit écran de contrôle sur le dessus… il ne me manque pas ! J’ai tout sur l’écran arrière ou le viseur.
Il a un nombre de rafales réduit à 4 ou 5 images / s… ce qui ne me dérange pas, vu que je ne fait jamais de photos d’action…
Pour le reste… bien sûr, la durée de la batterie est restreinte, il faut penser à en avoir de rechange.
Vu que j’ai la bague FTZ, j’utilise mes objectifs précédents… et c’est top.
Qualité de l’image… nickel.
Pour l’instant, j’en suis très satisfait.

Camera is good, great pics, but unfortunately display stopped working after 5 days. It seemed a bit slow from the start, but display went off all of a sudden and had to return it

The camera is fabulous. Low light performance is unbelievable. At night in dim street lights it can take bright pictures. With a little adjustment of aperture and shutter speed, the brightness can be made normal so that the photos come off looking exactly like what the street looks to human eye. Great work by the engineers. One issue is that low cost Z mount lenses are not yet available from third parties. But I believe those are in preparation, and till then it is possible to use an adapter.
The real problem is the atrocious customer service on an expensive device. My kit came with the wrong user manual. So I asked Nikon for a copy of the manual (after registering the device with proof). They outright refused. A printed manual costs nothing compared to the £1.5K price of the device. If this is their attitude for a manual that costs them pennies, I shudder to think what will happen when there is an expensive issue.
So, overall, even with the great camera, I regret not going with the investment in canon. Yet another tech company and good tech development is probably going to get ruined by the out of touch “business” people making greedy business policies.
