I owned the P900 previously so was able to get used to the P950 very quickly. If this is totally new to you I suggest you get guide on the P950 other than the basic booklet and manual provided by Nikon. It can produce good to excellent zoomed in shots to Macro shots. ( with practice) No need to carry a load of Lenses, but I suggest getting a Mono pod, or shoulder Pod to steady long Zoom tracking shots. Get some spare batteries ( as some may find the Battery life a bit short, 290-350 shots)

I am a wildlife photographer and am using Nikon gears from past 6 years. I have Nikon D500 and also had Nikon Coolpix P900. I sold my P900 and bought Nikon Coolpix P950.
Nikon Coolpix P950 has borrowed lot of things from P1000. Like 4K video in 30fps, 1080p in 60fps, And supports Raw format in Images. The EVF is better than P900 and also the Zoom buttom has been smoother compaired to P900. The auto focus si also better when compaire to P900 and the tracking system is lot more better this time.
The 4K video quality is awesome. You can view the sample video in my youtube channel ” Jakati’s Photography Travel & Wildlife.
The picture quality is also awesome , even though it has a smaller sensor with 16MP the images are good and sharp. The insane 2000mm zoom is sufficent to view moon’s creaters. The camera is very light in weight compare to P1000 and also very handy.

Battery is decent, but needs charging after extended shoots

Excellent photo capabilities but the menu system takes time to learn

Shania –
Amazing zoom capabilities, really brings distant subjects close
Ryan Swales –
Genial
Lance –
Extremely happy with this purchase, exceeded my expectations in every way

I assume international version means a grey import. Made in Asia for the Asian market then shipped to the UK. Camera manafacturers do not like this and it will be impossible to register the one year guarantee.
Minerva –
Lightweight and portable, though the grip feels a little small
Emmett –
Great for portraits, not the best for fast-paced action

Nice camera but didn’t come with the user manual and no warranty. Very disappointed as I’ve tried contacting seller they do not respond.

Bought after having a lumix fx82 I can see an improvement in picture clarity and the camera focusing faster. It is a little heavy but nothing to make any difference. Batteries last very well. I had bought spares after what I’d read but haven’t needed them yet. Like the scene mode but have only just started experimenting with that. Bird and auto modes good. I always use a monopod when taking pictures of wildlife that makes it easier to use. Has a feel of quality but I wish it had a lense cap that would attach more easily. Very difficult to find a decent case which is a complaint against most cameras. Some pictures can seem dull and then refocus in an instant brighter. I think weather conditions always affect any performance which is not always taken into account. Wi fi connectivity has proven very difficult. The lack of a touch screen makes it a bit dated but it’s the picture quality which matters and that’s been good.
Overall I’m very pleased. It was a lot of money to me.

Sophie –
The best camera I’ve ever owned, works perfectly for both photos and videos
